Rainfall at times heavy, combined with melting snow, is occurring. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.
Total rainfall: 20 to 40 mm over northern and eastern regions.
30 to 70 mm over southern regions.
Locations: New Brunswick.
Time span: Until Sunday morning.
Remarks: Rain, at times heavy, will persist tonight and then taper to showers early Sunday morning. Showers will change to scattered flurries later on Sunday. The highest rainfall amounts are expected near the Fundy coast.
A wind warning is in effect for the Tantramar Marsh area for strong southwesterly winds Sunday morning and afternoon. A wind warning is also in effect for the Acadian Peninsula for strong westerly winds Sunday night.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
