Manitobans could face more than week-long delay for power after snowstorm

Rain and wind on Thursday.
An intense low pressure system will track towards the region on Thursday. Rain and wind will begin over southwestern sections of the province in the morning and reach the northeast by afternoon. Total rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm are expected but may exceed warning criteria of 50 mm along the Fundy and Bay of Chaleur coasts. Additionally, easterly wind gusts of 70 km/h or higher are likely and may reach warning criteria of 90 km/h. Higher than normal water levels and rough surf is also possible along the Bay of Chaleur coast near high tide Thursday evening.
