DescriptionThis is a Manitoba Emergency Alert. Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure’s Hydrologic Forecast Centre has issued a high wind effect warning for major lakes in Manitoba including: the south basins of Lake Manitoba, Lake Winnipeg, Lake Winnipegosis and Dauphin Lake. High winds are forecasted to develop June 30 and are expected to last until July 1. Strong winds in excess of 60 km per hour are expected. Wind speed and wave action could raise water levels up to five feet or more. Be watchful as these winds can result in significant and forceful wave action on shorelines and cause damage to homes and buildings. Property owners in the affected area should take all necessary precautions to stay safe.
