Special Weather Statement
Issued at 20:57 Friday 27 January 2023A short cold spell is expected for the B.C. coast.
Arctic air will invade B.C. coastal regions on Saturday, with a major shift in temperature from our mild January.
Temperatures will become close to 5 degrees below normal Saturday night to Sunday.
Strong outflow winds are also expected through coastal valleys beginning Saturday morning and easing on Sunday. Gusty winds combined with cold temperatures will give low wind chill that will make it feel even colder.
Temperatures will gradually rise early next week.
If outside, dress warmly in layers. Be prepared for cold temperatures and strong winds. Drive with care, especially along coastal routes exposed to outflow winds.
