Special Weather Statement
Issued at 15:46 Saturday 28 January 2023A short cold spell is expected for the B.C. coast.
Arctic air has started to invade B.C. coastal regions today, with a major shift in temperature from our mild January.
Temperatures will become close to 5 degrees below normal tonight through Monday.
Strong outflow winds through coastal valleys will continue into Sunday night. Gusty winds combined with cold temperatures will give low wind chill that will make it feel colder.
Temperatures will gradually rise next week.
If outside, dress warmly in layers. Be prepared for cold temperatures and strong winds. Drive with care, especially along coastal routes exposed to outflow winds.
