Location: Metro Vancouver, Fraser Valley, Howe Sound, Whistler, the Sunshine Coast, and East Vancouver Island between Qualicum Beach and Fanny Bay, and from Courtenay to Campbell River
Rainfall accumulation: 50 to 80 mm is expected, with the higher amounts over Howe Sound and the North Shore mountains.
Timespan: This morning through this evening.
Other risks: Southeasterly winds gusting to 80 km/h are also expected this afternoon and early evening.
Remarks: A robust frontal system will bring heavy rain to the B.C. South Coast today. Rain will intensify through the day today. As the system moves through, heavy rain and gusty winds will ease tonight.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
