Another frontal system is expected to arrive tonight. Potential impacts to vulnerable landscape and infrastructure.
Timespan: Monday night to Wednesday evening.
Total rainfall: 40 to 70 mm.
Locations: Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Coquihalla Summit
Remarks: Another system will arrive tonight, bringing steady rain until Wednesday evening. Snow is expected initially over Coquihalla Summit but will change to rain by Tuesday afternoon. Snowmelt will contribute to runoff, increasing the risk of flooding and possibly impacting vulnerable landscape and infrastructure.
Precipitation will particularly impact the western and upslope sections of the highways. Areas north of Coquihalla Summit are expected to receive lesser amounts.
Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.
