Heavy rain tonight through Thursday.
Locations: Malahat Highway and near Port Renfrew.
Rainfall amounts for Greater Victoria and the Malahat Highway: near 50 mm.
Rainfall amounts near Port Renfrew: 80 to 100 mm.
Time span: After midnight tonight through Thursday afternoon.
Remarks: A moisture-laden system with an atmospheric river pattern will bring heavy rain to southern Vancouver Island starting tonight and continuing on Thursday. The current model guidance indicates that Port Renfrew will receive the highest rainfall amounts of 80 to 100 mm. The Malahat highway can expect rainfall amounts close to 50 mm. Heavy rain may lead to localized flooding or water pooling on roads.
As the system moves into the BC interior, heavy rain will ease Thursday evening.
