Health Canada recalls Toro snowblower due to amputation risk
About 679 units were sold in Canada.
A Toro brand snowblower is being recalled in Canada and the U.S. due to an amputation risk.
In a statement, Health Canada says the recall applies to 2021 Toro Power Max 826 OHAE, model 37802, sold in Canada between November 2020 and January 2021.
According to the health agency, the roll pins located in the handle latching assembly could crack and fall out, preventing the auger/impeller from being disengaged. If this happens, it could cause the auger/impeller to spin at full speed when the engine is in operating, creating a potential injury hazard.

The snowblower sells for around $1,199 the Canadian Press says via 1130 News.
As of January 26, 2021, Toro has received four reports of missing roll pins in Canada, but no injuries have been disclosed.
