Severe Thunderstorm WarningIssued at 00:08 Tuesday 25 July 2017
At 12:08 a.m. CDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a dangerous thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to golf ball size hail and heavy rain.
A line of scattered severe thunderstorms runs from Fairfax, through Glenboro, to Treherne. Thunderstorms in this line are likely producing large hail and are moving northeastward at 40 km/h.
Another intense thunderstorm in the Dakotas is heading northeastwards towards Boissevain at 40 km/h.
Heavy downpours are likely to cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Very large hail can damage property, break windows, dent vehicles and cause serious injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
A cold front tracking across Southern Manitoba will continue to trigger thunderstorms late this evening and overnight.
Some of these thunderstorms may become severe.
Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
