Summary

.LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS AND SQUALL HAVE BEEN PERSISTENT IN THE
PRIMARY SNOWBELT FROM GEAUGA COUNTY EASTWARD ACROSS ASHTABULA
COUNTY AND NORTHWEST PENNSYLVANIA AND THIS WILL CONTINUE INTO
TONIGHT. AN INCREASE IN THE LAKE EFFECT SNOW IS EXPECTED ACROSS
EASTERN CUYAHOGA COUNTY AND NORTHERN TRUMBULL COUNTY THROUGH TONIGHT.
RAPID CHANGES IN VISIBILITY AND INTENSITY WILL OCCUR IN THE
VICINITY OF THE HEAVIER SNOW BANDS. THE SNOW BANDS MAY AGAIN
BECOME MORE NUMEROUS NEAR THE LAKE ERIE LAKESHORE TONIGHT INTO
SATURDAY AS WINDS BECOME MORE WESTERLY.* ACCUMULATIONS...A FOOT OR MORE OF SNOW IS LIKELY IN PARTS OF
NORTHERN GEAUGA COUNTY AND EASTERN INLAND ERIE COUNTY
PENNSYLVANIA INTO TONIGHT WHERE SNOW SQUALLS PERSIST. ELSEWHERE
2 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED TODAY WITH ANOTHER 2 TO 6
INCHES TONIGHT. STORM TOTAL SNOW...INCLUDING THE SNOW FROM
THURSDAY...WILL AVERAGE 8 TO 15 INCHES WITH TOTALS AS HIGH AS 24
INCHES IN EASTERN ERIE COUNTY PENNSYLVANIA.

* TIMING...THE HEAVIEST AND MOST PERSISTENT SNOW AND SNOW SQUALLS INTO
TONIGHT WILL OCCUR IN NORTHERN GEAUGA COUNTY AND EASTERN ERIE
COUNTY PENNSYLVANIA. THE SNOW BANDS WILL VARY IN INTENSITY
ELSEWHERE. SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE INTO SATURDAY AND ARE
EXPECTED TO BE HEAVY AT TIMES.

* IMPACTS...LAKE EFFECT SNOW AND SNOW SQUALLS WILL LEAD TO
SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW AND VERY POOR VISIBILITIES
AT TIMES. HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED.

* WINDS...WEST 10 TO 20 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES...DROPPING INTO THE TEENS TONIGHT. WIND CHILL
VALUES POSSIBLY DIPPING INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS TONIGHT.

Summary

At 253 PM EST, radar indicated an intense snow squall near
Willoughby, or near Willowick, moving east at 15 mph.

HAZARDS INCLUDE... Visibility rapidly dropping to less than a
quarter of a mile. Snow squalls on Interstate 271 will increase late
this afternoon and this evening.

Locations impacted include...
Cleveland, Painesville, Ashtabula, Willowick, Meadville, Chardon,
Jefferson, Fairport Harbor, Geneva-On-The-Lake, Lakewood, Euclid,
Mentor, Cleveland Heights, Solon, Willoughby, Eastlake, Warrensville
Heights, Cortland, Geneva and South Russell.

Use extra caution if you must travel through the snow squalls. Rapid
changes in visibility and potentially slick roads are likely to lead
to accidents. Consider delaying travel until the squall passes your
location.
