.A STRONG WINTER STORM WILL CONTINUE TO BRING PERIODS OF FREEZING
INTO IOWA TODAY. SLIGHTLY WARMER TEMPERATURES WILL REACH INTO
SOUTHERN IOWA BY LATE MORNING AND INTO THE AFTERNOON ENDING THE
ICING THREAT THERE AND PUSHING THE MAIN FREEZING RAIN THREAT
NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80. EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS CAN
BE EXPECTED.* SHORT TERM TRENDS...FREEZING RAIN WILL DIMINISH FOR A PERIOD
THIS MORNING THOUGH INTERMITTENT POCKETS OF FREEZING RAIN AND
FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL CONTINUE. ANOTHER ROUND OF MODERATE
FREEZING RAIN ARRIVES AFTER 7 AM.

* STORM TOTAL ICE ACCUMULATIONS...ICE ACCUMULATIONS FROM TWO TO
FOUR TENTHS OF AN INCH ARE EXPECTED.

* WINDS...EAST TO NORTHEAST WINDS AT 5 TO 10 MPH.

* IMPACTS...EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS TRAVEL DUE TO ICE COVERED AND
VERY SLICK ROADS. SIDEWALKS AND PARKING LOTS WILL BE SLICK.
TREE DAMAGE AND POWER OUTAGES ARE POSSIBLE.
