Freezing Rain WarningIssued at 22:20 Saturday 24 February 2018
Some freezing rain likely late tonight into Sunday morning.
A fast-moving low pressure system currently moving into Wisconsin will cross the Great Lakes tonight into Sunday. It will spread another round of precipitation across the region overnight and Sunday morning.
The precipitation will likely begin as patchy freezing rain overnight, and may persist for a few hours before changing to rain Sunday morning. Although ice accumulations should be light, cold untreated surfaces will likely become glazed and slippery in the overnight hours into Sunday morning before temperatures rise above freezing.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
