A very intense low pressure system currently in Alberta is forecast to move into central Saskatchewan tonight. This system will spread very strong wind gusts of 90 to 100 km/h to southern and central Saskatchewan this evening and overnight. In addition, certain wind prone areas in the lee of the Cypress Hills may see gusts of 110 km/h.
Winds will abate overnight through early Wednesday as this weather system tracks into Manitoba.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
