Higher than normal water levels with large waves are expected near the coast.
Coastal flood warning issued jointly by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (Science) and the Meteorological Service of Canada - Quebec region, on 2017-05-28, at 3:30 pm EDT.
An intense low pressure system from the Prairies will generate strong northeasterlies over the above mentioned regions. The combination of strong winds and the fact that we are currently in a period of high tidal range could produce coastal flooding along the coast near theses localities, on the dates and at the times specified (Eastern daylight time).
Quebec City: 2017-05-29, from 8:00 am to 11:00 am.
Coastal erosion is possible in vulnerable areas.
Storm surge warnings are issued when water levels pose a threat to coastal regions.
