Issued at 15:54 Monday 19 February 2018

Ice build-up due to freezing rain is expected or occurring.

5 millimetres of freezing precipitation over Northwestern Quebec and 10 to 15 millimetres over central areas.

A band of freezing rain associated with a warm front will affect the Témiscamingue and the La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve beginning overnight tonight.

The area of freezing rain will extend toward the regions further north and east on Tuesday.

This period of freezing precipitation will be particularly long in the Quebec City area, where freezing precipitation will accumulate until early Wednesday morning.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
