Freezing Rain WarningIssued at 06:35 Wednesday 21 February 2018
Ice build-up due to freezing rain is expected or occurring.
2 to 5 millimetres of additional freezing rain is expected over several areas of Central Quebec and the Lower St Lawrence this morning, as well as over the Upper North Shore and the Gaspé Peninsula into the afternoon.
Freezing rain will have been especially persistent over the Québec and Saguenay regions with rainfall totals since yesterday estimated to 10 to 20 millimetres.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
