Higher than normal water levels with large waves are expected near the coast.
Storm surge warning
Warning of potential coastal flood conditions issued jointly by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (science) and the Meteorological Service of Canada - Quebec region, 2017-04-26 to 7:00 am EDT.
An intense low pressure system from the American Midwest will generate strong winds in the above mentioned region. The combination of strong winds and the fact that we are currently in a period of high tides could produce marginal coastal flooding near the following locality on the dates and at the times (Eastern daylight time).
Quebec City: 2017-04-27, 6:00 am to 09:00 am.
Coastal flooding is possible along the shoreline.
Storm surge warnings are issued when water levels pose a threat to coastal regions.
