Winter Storm WarningIssued at 04:17 Tuesday 12 December 2017
A winter storm from the Great Lakes will reach Northern New Brunswick overnight tonight, then the North Shore on Wednesday. Snow will begin this morning in Trois-Rivières and will then spread eastward to reach Eastern Quebec this evening or overnight tonight and Fermont on Wednesday.
Snowfall amounts of 20 to 40 centimetres are expected with this system as well as strong to severe winds and blowing snow.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Road closures are possible.
Winter storm warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.
