2 to 10 mm of freezing precipitation is expected over these areas.
Freezing rain is already affecting Western and Central Quebec. It will reach the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region early Saturday morning. The Lower St. Lawrence, the Gaspé Peninsula and the North Shore will see heavy rain beginning Saturday morning.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
