Alerts in Effect
Special Weather StatementIssued at 04:15 Monday 11 December 2017
A storm system developing over the Great Lakes will track along the East Coast on Tuesday and reach the Gaspé Peninsula on Wednesday. It will give snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning. Although below the warning criteria of 15 cm in 12 hours, snowfall is expected to cause significant issues.
There is still a chance that forecasted amounts be revised to higher and winds behind the low will give blowing snow on Wednesday. A warning could therefore be issued later.
