Freezing Rain Warning

Issued at 11:09 Saturday 25 February 2017

Freezing rain that affected Western and Central Quebec is tracking northeastward. A total of 2 to 10 millimetres of freezing rain is expected over the warning areas.

Meanwhile, some areas south of the St. Lawrence River will see periods of rain and freezing drizzle over the next few hours.

###

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.cpiq_tempetes-qspc_storms.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports to #meteoqc.
