Heat WarningIssued at 11:11 Monday 25 September 2017
Humidex values reaching 40 are expected.
Exceptionally warm and humid conditions will persist over Southwestern and Central Quebec through Wednesday with highs near 30 degrees and humidex values reaching 40.
Temperatures will therefore soar well above seasonal values of 15 to 18 degrees during the day and of 5 to 9 degrees during the night over these areas. Maximum temperature records are expected to be once again broken in some localities.
A return to seasonal values is expected to begin on Thursday.
The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
