Special Weather Statement

Issued at 03:25 Monday 11 December 2017

A low pressure system will develop south of the Great Lakes region tonight and approach the Maritimes on Tuesday.

Snow will likely develop over the province Tuesday afternoon. Tuesday night, the precipitation will change to rain at times heavy and persist into Wednesday. Before the changeover, snowfall will likely cause slippery conditions. Current indications suggest that snowfall warnings will not be required. Significant rainfall is expected and may require warnings.

In addition, strong southeasterly winds are expected with this system.
