Snowfall Warning

A long period of snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected.

Snow, mixed at times with ice pellets, will continue tonight into Thursday.

The precipitation will become light and intermittent for a few hours later tonight according to latest indications. However another surge of moisture associated with the next low approaching from the Southern Plains will arrive Thursday morning, and the snow will become extensive and heavier again.

Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 cm are expected to accumulate by Thursday evening with 25 cm possible in a few areas. The snow and ice pellets will taper off to scattered flurries Thursday evening.
