Snowfall Warning

Issued at 08:37 Saturday 18 November 2017

Some light snow possibly mixed with rain is likely today with a couple of centimetres possible. However, snow at times heavy will begin this evening as a major low pressure system approaches the area.

Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 centimetres are expected by the time the snow tapers off Sunday morning. The highest amounts are expected near Algonquin and Petawawa. Freezing rain is also possible from Renfrew to Algonquin.

In addition, gusty winds will cause local low visibilities in blowing snow.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
