Rainfall Warning

Issued at 13:15 Sunday 30 April 2017

Rain, at times heavy, is expected.

Heavy rainfall expected today into Monday.

An intensifying low pressure system over Missouri is forecast to soak southern portions of the province. It will not be a continuous rain, but several rounds of heavier rain are expected with embedded thunderstorms in some areas. Total general rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 millimetres are anticipated through Monday before it tapers off. But some areas which receive more persistent thunderstorms may be impacted by amounts up to 75 mm.

###

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
