Severe Thunderstorm WarningIssued at 21:36 Sunday 30 April 2017
At 9:36 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts and up to nickel size hail.
A line of strong thunderstorms capable of producing strong winds of 90 km/h stretches from Waterford to Long Point moving eastwards. Locales in its path include Jarvis and Hagersville.
An additional severe thunderstorm with hail of 2 cm is just south of Cayuga.
Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.

Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, damaging hail and heavy rain.
Strong thunderstorms continue, albeit somewhat weaker, to the north of Lake Erie. They continue to have the potential to produce heavy rainfall. Large hail and strong winds gusts are also possible. They should gradually weaken as they move northeastwards throughout the evening hours. Tornadoes are not expected with any of these storms.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
