Freezing Rain Warning

Issued at 04:38 Thursday 30 March 2017

Some freezing rain expected this evening.

A wintery mix of precipitation is expected to affect the region later today and this evening as a low pressure system approaches the lower Great Lakes. Mixed snow and rain should begin this afternoon then change to some freezing rain by early evening. Temperatures should climb to just above the freezing mark later this evening, thereby changing any freezing rain to rain.

###

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.cpio-tempetes-ospc-storms.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
