Freezing Rain WarningIssued at 10:54 Sunday 26 March 2017
Freezing rain has moved into regions extending from Algonquin Park across Renfrew to Brockville is expected to spread into the Ottawa to Cornwall areas this afternoon.
Latest indications show that periods of freezing rain will persist into this evening before changing to rain as temperatures rise above the zero degree mark.
However, areas near the Ottawa Valley will likely take longer to rise above the freezing mark. These areas could see the freezing rain persist until well after midnight tonight.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
