Mostly sunny skies have allowed daytime temperatures to reach the upper twenties again today, with humidex values in the mid to upper thirties.

Warm and humid conditions are expected again on Tuesday. However, a cold front is expected to move across Northeastern Ontario Tuesday night into Wednesday bringing cooler temperatures for the remainder of the week.

Extreme heat affects everyone.

The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
