Snow Squall WatchIssued at 19:05 Friday 15 December 2017
Snow squalls may affect areas southeast of Georgian Bay later tonight and Saturday morning.
At this point, it appears that the most intense activity will remain farther north closer to Georgian Bay. However, localized snowfall totals of near 15 cm or so are likely, as well as reduced visibility in areas of blowing snow.
The activity is expected to taper off on Saturday as a ridge of high pressure moves in.
Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
Snow squall watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the formation of bands of snow that could produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.
