The first appreciable snow of the season for parts of Central and Eastern Ontario.
Wet snow has spread across Central and Eastern Ontario. Slippery roads are associated with the snow in many places.
Snow will mix with or change to rain or drizzle at times in some areas, with freezing drizzle also a possibility.
Snowfall amounts will average 5 to 10 cm in an band from Haliburton to Ottawa with lesser amounts to the south and east.
Snow will taper off later this evening near Georgian Bay and early Friday morning near Ottawa.
The snow is due to a low pressure system that is currently centred over eastern Lake Ontario and forecast to move into eastern New York State.
