Severe Thunderstorm WatchIssued at 16:06 Thursday 28 July 2016
Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
Torrential downpours from slow moving thunderstorms over Southwestern Ontario have the potential to produce rainfall amounts of 50 mm in an hour or less. Wind gusts to 90 km/h are also possible.
Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
