Special Weather Statement

Widespread accumulating snow likely tonight and Tuesday.

Snow associated with an Alberta Clipper forecast to cross Eastern Ontario. Snow is expected to begin tonight and taper off Tuesday night. A general snowfall of 10 to 15 cm appears likely at this time by Tuesday evening.

Although localized higher amounts of 15 to 20 cm are quite possible, this snowfall event will stretch over a 24 to 36 hour period. Latest indications show that the snowfall warning threshold of 15 cm per 12 hours is not expected to be reached.

The snow will slowly taper off to flurries on Wednesday.

Poor winter driving conditions are expected. Untreated roads may become snow covered and slippery.

Folks planning travel to the Montreal area should note that snowfall warnings are in effect there.

Environment Canada will continue to monitor this situation and update statements accordingly.
