Freezing rain continues this morning.
Freezing rain will continue for a few hours this morning, with ice accumulation of 5 to 10 millimetres likely in most areas.
Untreated surfaces will be icy and slippery as a result of the freezing rain. The morning commute to work will be affected by this freezing rain event.
Freezing rain will come to an end near midday, with patchy freezing drizzle or drizzle expected this afternoon as temperatures struggle to get to just above the zero degree mark.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas. Road closures are possible. Utility outages may occur.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
