Freezing Rain Warning

Issued at 10:29 Tuesday 23 January 2018
Summary

Freezing rain is expected or occurring.

Freezing rain ahead of a warm front moving through the Maritimes will continue spreading northward and eastward this afternoon. Freezing rain will change to rain from west to east as temperatures slowly rise above zero. The freezing precipitation will be more confined to inland areas.

###

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
