Freezing rain is expected or occurring.
Freezing rain expected tonight for much of northern Manitoba.
The remnants of a Pacific low pressure system are moving over northern Manitoba tonight. With warm air aloft and surface temperatures at or below the freezing mark, periods of freezing rain are expected this evening and overnight. Precipitation will taper off Thursday morning as the system moves out of the area.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Utility outages may occur.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
