Snowfall WarningIssued at 16:10 Tuesday 23 January 2018
A Pacific front moving across the Interior will give heavy snow to the southern BC highway passes tonight. Another front will bring snow again late Wednesday through Wednesday night. The snow is expected to ease early Thursday morning as the second front moves away from the region.
The Coquihalla Summit and Kootenay Pass could receive 25 to 35 cm snowfall accumulation, while Allison Pass could receive 20 to 25 cm of snowfall accumulation.
Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.
