Special Weather Statement

Issued at 11:09 Thursday 22 February 2018

A brief interlude of dry and mainly sunny conditions over the Inner South Coast will end on Friday as a trough of low pressure crosses the area.

Moisture associated with the trough will result in snow and and wet snow mixed with rain beginning Friday morning. Southeasterly winds through Georgia Straight will usher in relatively warmer air and communities near the immediate coast will see a mix of wet snow and rain while areas further inland are more likely to see snow.

Snowfall amounts will vary considerable, ranging from 2 to 10 cm.

A second disturbance will move through the area on Friday night, with a good possibility of more flurries for the South Coast.
