Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.
Westerly winds 70 gusting to 90 km/h are expected to develop near Juan de Fuca Strait this afternoon, as a strong cold front moves across the South Coast. The strong winds will ease overnight as the front moves into the Interior.
Gusty winds can damage soft shelters, tents and awnings at outdoor events. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
