.PERIODS OF FREEZING RAIN CONTINUE ACROSS THE REGION...HEAVIEST
NEAR AND NORTH OF INTERSTATE 90. FARTHER SOUTH INTO NORTHEAST
IOWA...PRECIPITATION HAS TAPERED OFF TO PERIODS OF DRIZZLE OR
FREEZING DRIZZLE. ROADS IN MANY AREAS ARE REPORTED TO BE VERY ICY
AND HAZARDOUS...WITH NUMEROUS REPORTS OF ACCIDENTS LATE THIS
AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING.

THROUGH LATE EVENING...LOOK FOR STEADY WINTRY PRECIPITATION TO
CONTINUE LIFTING NORTH OF INTERSTATE 90...WITH ADDITIONAL LIGHT
RAIN OR DRIZZLE FARTHER SOUTH...POSSIBLY FREEZING DEPENDING ON
SURFACE TEMPERATURES. WITH ROADS REMAINING BELOW FREEZING...ANY
UNTREATED SURFACES WILL REMAIN VERY ICY AND CONTRIBUTE TO VERY
HAZARDOUS TRAVEL RIGHT ON THROUGH THE MORNING COMMUTE TUESDAY.* PERIODS OF STEADY FREEZING RAIN WILL GRADUALLY TAPER OFF FROM
SOUTH TO NORTH THROUGH LATE EVENING...WITH A LIGHTER WINTRY MIX OF
SLEET...FREEZING RAIN...AND SNOW LINGERING THROUGH THE EARLY
MORNING HOURS.

* ROADS ARE VERY ICY ALL THROUGHOUT THE REGION. EVEN THOUGH AIR
TEMPERATURES MAY WARM ABOVE FREEZING TONIGHT...UNTREATED
SURFACES WILL REMAIN VERY ICY DUE TO COLD GROUND.

* ADDITIONAL ICE ACCUMULATION OF AROUND 1/10 OF AN INCH IS
EXPECTED NORTH OF I-90...LESS SOUTH. ANY SNOW OR SLEET
ACCUMULATION WILL BE LESS THAN 1 INCH.

* TRAVEL WILL REMAIN VERY HAZARDOUS...INCLUDING DURING THE TUESDAY
MORNING COMMUTE.
