A very intense low pressure system is moving across central Saskatchewan tonight. Widespread severe wind gusts of 90 to 110 km/h will spread across southern and central Saskatchewan this evening and overnight. Brief isolated gusts up to 130 km/h are also possible as the cold front crosses through the southeast late this evening.
Winds will abate from west to east early Wednesday morning as this weather system tracks into Manitoba.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
