Freezing Rain WarningIssued at 22:05 Tuesday 22 January 2019
Freezing rain is expected or occurring.
A band of freezing rain will develop over the Outaouais region and the Montreal area late Wednesday as a warm front approaches. Freezing precipitation will spread toward the Quebec City area during the following night.
2 to 4 millimetres of freezing precipitation are expected over most regions where a warning was issued. However, ice accretion will reach 5 to 10 millimetres over the Laurentians foothills, where temperatures will be slow to rise above the freezing mark.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
