Freezing Rain Warning

Issued at 15:43 Saturday 18 November 2017

An extended period of freezing rain is expected beginning this evening over Southwestern Quebec. It will move towards Central Quebec tonight and towards Eastern Quebec early Monday morning.

Amounts of freezing precipitation will vary between 5 and 15 millimetres north of the St Lawrence River while they will range from 1 to 4 mm over areas south of the river.

###

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.cpiq_tempetes-qspc_storms.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports using #meteoqc.
