Special Weather Statement

Issued at 16:54 Saturday 20 January 2018

A low pressure system will approach from the Great Lakes on Tuesday and then track across northern New Brunswick Wednesday morning. Precipitation ahead of this system will begin as snow Tuesday morning and then change to rain across southern New Brunswick by evening. The precipitation should change to rain across central and northern regions of the province Tuesday night but an extended period of freezing rain and significant snowfall accumulation is possible before the changeover. Over southern regions significant rainfall is quite likely and combined with the melting of the existing snow on the ground will give enhanced runoff.
