Conditions remain favourable for potentially severe thunderstorms until this afternoon. Thunderstorms that form may be capable of producing large hail and strong wind gusts.

Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles.

Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.

Heat Warning

Summary

Daytime high temperatures ranging from 29 degrees Celsius to the mid 30's combined with overnight lows of 14 to 20 degrees Celsius are expected to continue through the weekend.

Heat warnings will likely be expanded to other regions of Alberta in the coming days.
