Special Weather Statement

Issued at

A significant change in weather is coming this week, with cooler temperatures and 15 to 25 cm of snow possible.

After record setting warmth in previous days, a cold front passing through the province will result in afternoon temperatures in the single digits today.
This front will also bring heavy snow with it. Snow will begin this evening over west-central Alberta and spread southeast on Wednesday and Thursday.

Over 48 hours, snowfall totals of 15 to 25 cm are expected for parts of southern Alberta. Higher amounts are possible over the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains. Snowfall warnings are likely.

The cold air is expected to persist through the weekend and into next week.
