Martin Bélanger is a meteorologist and The Weather Network's Briefing Services manager. Martin leads a team of 30 meteorologists who provide custom graphics, forecast products and consultation services for television, web and numerous commercial clients across Canada. Prior to his current position, Martin managed the meteorology department at MétéoMédia, The Weather Network's French counterpart in Montréal. He was also an on-air meteorologist and severe weather specialist covering tornadoes, hurricanes and winter storms for MétéoMédia. Martin has been featured as an expert on CBC, CTV, Global, TVA, TQS and numerous radio stations. He has also been quoted in many newspapers. Additionally, Martin was responsible for the planning and management of the installation of lightning sensors and operation of our national lightning detection network. Fascinated by the diverse atmospheric phenomena, Martin graduated from the University of Québec in Montréal with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics-Meteorology. He has also completed studies in radio and television. Martin is a member of the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographical Society , the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association.
