Kim MacDonald is a familiar face to anyone who watches The Weather Network, her bright smile can make even the bad weather seem bearable.
Kim joined The Weather Network in 1998 (she was 12), after 5 years as a radio morning show co-host and news caster in St. Catharines, Ontario and as a news caster at a radio station in Welland, Ontario. But clearly she was meant to be on television.
A proud native of the Niagara region Kim attended Brock University earning a degree in in Culture and Language Communications and also Attended Niagara College for Radio and Television. Kim earned her CMOS certified in 2002. In order to get her foot in the door Kim started by volunteering for her university newspaper and local cable TV station. In 2012 Kim was chosen as The Toronto Sun's Readers' Choice for favourite weather personality.
What does Kim love about the weather?
I like that weather is something all Canadians have in common. It brings us together, especially when it is particularly harsh. It is constantly changing, occasionally unpredictable and should always be respected.
